For Clients

Q: How do I know what and when I can hunt?

Answer: We have a full list of Texas Hunting Seasons on our website. Each species lists its season and the regions in which it is available. 

 

Q: How do I book a trip?

Answer: There are four easy steps to book a trip. First, reference the calendar for an overview of all available trip dates. When selecting a date on the calendar, select ONLY the starting day. The calendar will automatically show your arrival/departure dates and number of available positions. Next, select the number of guests in your hunting party. Then add any additional services you might be interested in, such as trophy upgrades, extra days, or special accommodations. Last, click “Book this Package” and enter payment details. 

 

Q: Will it cost me to find a hunt?

Answer: It is free to sign up and search on BuyHunts. We do charge a minimal service fee on trips booked through our website. 

 

Q: What should I bring on my trip?

Answer: You will find a “What Should I Bring” list on the outfitter’s page for each package. 

 

Q: Why should I use BuyHunts.com?

Answer: We believe it will save you time and money because it is the only site where you can research multiple outfitters at once while searching for trips based on species or location, and most importantly, you can book your trip immediately. Our site also allows you to write a review of your guide to help future hunters know what to expect on their trips.

 

Q: How do I travel with firearms?

Answer: It is best to contact your travel provider directly to ask about rules and regulations governing travel with firearms. Each provider may have different regulations. 

 

Q: How do I get the right tags for my hunt?

Answer: Your outfitter will tell you exactly what license(s) you will need and where you can purchase them, but you should find this information on the listing page for your desired package. 

 

Q: What if I don’t see my “dream hunt” listed?

Answer: On BuyHunts.com, members can contact outfitters directly and “Request a Hunt.” Outfitters will respond on the feasibility and availability of your desired hunt. 

 

Q: What if I need to cancel a trip?

Answer: Each outfitter may have a different cancellation policy. Contact your outfitter directly for more information. This information is also listed on the package listing page for your convenience. 

 

Q: What happens after I book my trip?

Answer: The outfitter/guide will have 24 hours to respond to your trip request. You can check the status of your booking on the “Bookings” tab on your dashboard. 

 

Q: How do I pay for the remaining balance of my trip? 

Answer: You have the option to pay the remaining balance from your “Bookings” page on the dashboard.

 

Q: How can I leave a review for my outfitter? 

Answer: After you have completed your trip, you can choose to leave a review, and even upload images from your trip, from the “Bookings” page on the dashboard. 

 

 

For Outfitters

Q: Can I list my services for free on BuyHunts.com?

Answer: You can list up to five packages per month for free. These packages are viewable on search results only. By signing up as a Premium Member, you can list unlimited packages and your trips are viewable on a Premium Provider page. 

 

Q: How do I get paid?

Answer: All members must be signed up on Stripe, an app that enables you to accept and manage online payments. Stripe’s transaction fees are currently 2.9% + $.30, charged to the provider. Funds are deposited into your account within two business days. 

 

Q: Can I review a booking before it is finalized?

Answer: Yes, you have 24 hours to respond to and accept a booking before it is confirmed. 

 

Q: What information will clients see about my business and services?

Answer: Outfitters have a customizable profile on BuyHunts, including a booking calendar and the ability to upload photos and videos of previous hunts. Package listing pages will show hunt price, all services and amenities, upgrade options and costs, calendar of availability, pictures/videos, and cancellation/booking policies. 

 

Q: Can I advertise my hunts listed on BuyHunts elsewhere?

Answer: Yes, we make it simple to share your packages on social media in order to expand your reach to a wider audience. 

 

Q: How do I manage my booking?

Answer: Details for all current and past bookings can be viewed from the “Bookings” tab on your dashboard. 

 

Q: What if I receive an unfair review, and can I respond to reviews?

Answer: Providers will have an opportunity to post a response to client reviews.
